Showcasing character concept designs and development for my self-initiate project (Happiness Project).
The project is based on a made-up game I called 'Felix Quest', RPG game where player can choose between two main characters: Fulgencio (Male) & Felicity (Female).
Context: Set in a dystopian future era where Gaudium – World of Happiness – was left in ruins after an unknown source gave impact to once peaceful realm, making land black as the void. Many were affected as the population experiences total negativity all around, even turning them into corrupt beings ‘Malus’. However, the 'falling star' also brought hope into the land. A hero befallen into this world was fated to save this crumbling world into the way it was before…
Character backstory: Nurtured by human dwellers of a remote village (‘Spes’) and he/she never known its origins. The orphaned was adored from the day it was discovered near their village. Despite the impact of its fall from the sky, as a 'falling comet', the child was perfectly alright. The dwellers felt happy and uplift upon seeing a glowing child hence, they called it a ‘star child’. Growing up, he/ she had a vision where the comet split to two – emphasising its terrestrial origin. The vision also implies the he/she is the only hope which, imbues the power of ‘positivum’, to save the state of Gaudium. Later years, he/she then set off to save Gaudium and find answers of its origin.
